Unfortunately, NOT (Please see article: what is PRS and can I use it) in this blog. To use the NZ PRS band all equipment must be type approved. This a bunch of regulations and parameters that must be past (as far as transmitter specification). We have attempted to have the low-end Chinese certified for this use but were unable to meet the NZ specification. Also, one the regulations is no VFO (means you are not allowed to be able to enter a frequency directly on the radio). The channels must be “pre-set” and not able to be modified or entered on the equipment itself.
