This is the million dollar question and there is no simple answer. The distance radios will go depend on a number of things. In situations like track style racing the coverage is a fairly strait forward exercise and all of our configurations will easily cover these situations.

Enduro or long distance racing the situation changes somewhat and largely depends on where you are racing. Unfortunately radios and trees don’t tend to work well together. This is because trees act a natural “signal blocker” reducing the distance transmissions can be made. Better antenna’s and having them “higher” can help with this situation also a little more transmission power can ensure the best coverage possible.

Our testing has found the Jaycar portable pole a good option for service crews wanting to increase coverage. (Found Here)
