In New Zealand our governing body for radio services is RSM (Radio Spectrum Management).

This is a government orgainsation administers the regulations as defined in the regulations pertaining to the equipment you are operating.

They have standards and regulations for all types of radio communications in NZ. Unless you are of the technical nature, looking at their website is likely to do nothing but give you a migraine!

Best way to think of RSM is as the “radio police”.

In our dealing with RSM they have been very helpful / especially the local (Waikato) RSM officer. This is who we have to work with to get new radios certified in order to legally sell them withing the NZ market.

Please be aware, for those of you using illegal radios, RMS has the power to prosecute you and some of the fines are quite high..

If your in doubt about your equipment, I would strongly suggest you either contact RSM or Speedtech and we will do our best to advise you. (Most radio equipment imported with racing cars do not meet the NZ standards)
